    Active Crossovers, anyone dabbled?

Not sure why you say this. IME DSP works perfectly well with analogue inputs. In fact, the best LP playback I’ve heard is with a Sugarcube in the playback path. it uses DSP to process and de-noise/click LPs. At this point I would not listen to records without a Sugarcube.

    Systemdeck Spares

Thank you all for the additional suggestions and links. Your inputs are greatly appreciated. However, I’m based in the US so buying small parts, or entire turntables for spares, from the UK is quite uneconomic. By way of background, I got this Systemdeck recently. It was advertised locally...

    Budget tonearm?

If you do decide to get a Rega arm, get one of these damper systems. They are well worth it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/284628111880?mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5338728743&customid=&toolid=10001&mkevt=1 No vested interest, just a satisfied customer.

    Budget tonearm?

Yes, would be helpful if you told us your budget. Rega make good arms, nothing wrong with the current 300 series arm, go for it if fits your budget.

    Active Crossovers, anyone dabbled?

If you want State of the Art sound there’s no alternative to DSP. Multi-way linear phase (if you so desire) crossovers, DRC, crosstalk cancellation, PEQ, etc, etc, all in one box.

    Active Crossovers, anyone dabbled?

DSP is the way to go. Enormous flexibility, and with the right DSP hardware or software one can use FIR filters. See MiniDSP for well supported hardware. There are others, of course, such as DEQX. For software that will run on a computer, see Audiovero, Audiolense , Rephase…..

    Systemdeck Spares

Thanks for the link, but that’s rather more than I want to spend. Will keep looking for a lower cost solution. A replacement pulley would be ideal.

    Systemdeck Spares

I heard back from Deco audio. They are unable to help as they have no Systemdeck available. Audionote decks are sufficiently different from the original systemdeck that the drive system parts are not interchangeable. Converting a systemdeck to use an Audionote drive system would be...

Has anyone bought a product because of a recommendation on ASR?

I don’t actually buy equipment just because of good reviews, but if I’m in the market for something and have a shortlist I do check the reviews - print media and online - to see how shortlisted items perform before making a final decision.

    Systemdeck Spares

Do any forum members know of a source of spares for the Systemdeck IIx? i need a 50 Hz pulley, cant find one on line, so suggestions are welcomed. An acrylic platter to replace the original glass one would be nice too, but is not essential. Thanks in advance.

Amir, who runs ASR is, I believe, quite well off and is not intimidated by threats of lawsuits. Erin is an engineer in the aerospace industry and needs to tread carefully. I’ve sent him a donation and encourage others to help.
