    Soldering NACA4 to XLR plugs - help wanted

    Many thanks to hp1, I've now got working NACA4 with the XLR plugs attached. I think it's fair to say, that whilst it is physically possible, it was quite tricky (and well beyond my capabilities!).

    Soldering NACA4 to XLR plugs - help wanted

    I'd be interested in what the alternatives are if it's not...But surely a NAP250 -> NACA4 -> XLR Isobarik isn't unheard of?

    Soldering NACA4 to XLR plugs - help wanted

    Hi, I've recently picked up some early passive Isobarik DMS speakers with XLR connectors, and will be running them with a NAP250. I've got some NACA4, and have picked up some Neutrik (right-angled) XLR plugs, and after a couple of hours of frustration, have found that I have neither the skills...

I've recently attached the little decoupling sponge feet to the base of...

    Revisiting Jim Rogers JR149s

    A quick update, after taking the base covers off again last night. There's not a four-pin plug on my speakers, as each of the 4 wires are soldered directly to the board. I can't see a fuse either - is it possible it doesn't have one? Once I'd put the unit back together, I (perhaps...

    Revisiting Jim Rogers JR149s

    Hi both, Thanks for the quick replies. I'll give the connections a going over with Servisol and see if that improves things. TonyL, I think I have got my wires crossed (so to speak). I think the speakers must be Mk1, just with the gold logo, not red. (Serial number of mine is circa 14K...

    Revisiting Jim Rogers JR149s

    Hi, I'm newly registered here, having been helpfully pointed in this direction from theartofsound. I've recently updated/upgraded almost all my hifi components - the first time I've made changes in 18 years or so. I now have an LP12, Quad 33/303 and JR149 speakers. The JR149s are a...
