Always wanted a pair... and been waiting a longtime...
These and are quite rare in non black and in decent condition.
Came with all the grills and even a little brush for the grills.
Cosmetically these are really good and not abused and no studio handles..
Will investigate crossovers etc.
Very very impressed with these and early days run most things on the 405.1 at first....
As with 105 sound really good from the get go...
Bass is very punchy...
As with the KEF105s the crossover is quite complex and they are not super efficient.
Having tried valve amps with 105s and epically failed I am not going to bother with these and swap a quad 909 when i have time...
The engineering and quality is outstanding, a mere tap on the cabinet gives a reassuring thud that i have only had with ns1000s....
Emailed B&W Regarding driver part numbers etc, and was met with the speakers are over 30 years old and not supported,B&W marketing were quite happy to use the 801 to promote the newer ranges but strangely cant supply any driver information.
Believe Quad are not supporting the quad II valve amplifier anymore.....
Not sure if the protection circuit is engaged or how to use the buttons.
Believe Sergeauckland runs a pair of these active,which i can only imagine is something else...
