My first two albums ripped from vinyl to 24/192 - listening from the NAS via Roon

No treatment, apart from track splitting.

Disappointment at the quality of the commercial download of one of these two albums provoked the whole thing. The download had quite a lot of distortion that is simply not on the thin vinyl of my copy purchased 2nd hand in the mid 1980's.

I haven't been impressed with hardly any hires downloads either and I've stopped buying them. I now just go for a very early 1st press cd or record.

Having said that, the official Elvis hires downloads have been very sympathetically mastered but the Pink Floyd ones haven't been great abd easily beaten by an early cd.
