Met Police officer David Carrick admits to being serial rapist

“Gray said the force was reviewing every past claim of domestic abuse or sexual offence against Met officers and staff, and said the force was looking into about 1,000 of its 45,000 employees.”

That’s 1 in 45 of it’s staff. Or 1 in 22 of it’s male staff, as about 50% are female.

When 1 in 22 of your male staff are subject to a claim of domestic or sexual abuse you probably need to think about who you are attracting.

So, next time you see the scum from the TSG stamping on a protesters head, try to guess if they’re a rapist or a wife beater.

Really? They're all scum are they?

The TSG are, yes. The cudgel with which the government beat the shit out of citizens. An unreservedly nasty bunch of bastards and now statistically proven to feature wife beaters and rapists.

Regular police are mostly good eggs IME, just underfunded to the point of uselessness, like all public servants.

Ok... First hand experience or just because you say so / that's your opinion?

Worth reading the wiki entry on the TSG: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metropolitan_Police_Territorial_Support_Group#Criticism

Removing their ID badges at protests says it all for me. If an officer doesn't wish to be identifiable they clearly intend to break the law. Why don't their colleagues pull them up on it or report them?

I'm not remotely anti-police. But it exemplifies a culture of 'looking after our own'.

The surprising thing is anyone is surprised! And yes it is first hand experience.
Take the absurd response to the London Fire Brigade report. The are now up to their necks in EDI Training. What a stupid useless response. People need sacking. Not that many either say a hundred in the next couple of months. It need to be made clear that some kinds of ‘banter’ means you lose your career and pension.

One of Britain’s most senior police officers is being investigated over allegations he described the “bulk” of rape complaints as “regretful sex”.
Sir Stephen House, a former deputy commissioner and acting commissioner of the Metropolitan police, was referred to the independent police watchdog over the accusation. His alleged comments were made public by Home Office adviser Prof Betsy Stanko, who conducted a review into the number of rape cases making it to court.

Former acting Met commissioner allegedly called bulk of rape complaints ‘regretful sex’

Time to pension off great swathes of senior Met officers who've spent decades in an environment that normalises these sorts of attitudes. It's too late for them.

It's good to know that none of the female staff are being investigated. They obviously vet them properly.

How can someone who has numerous investigations against him not just remain in the police force, but be promoted and given a gun

The same way that teachers with an unhealthy interest in the children managed to hang around - refusal to believe it, refusal to listen to victims, apathy, too busy, a set of unconnected dots between the person in question and the end state (the law). None of this is unique to the police.

I'm not quite sure what your point is.

Of course there are female perpetrators of domestic abuse but statistically the perpetrators are overwhelmingly male - 96% according to the ONS.

I say, being a cop is not getting easier these days, at the same time we need them more than we ever used to. I respect them because they make an actual contribution to society, and their job requires balls most of us haven't.

Let us investigate this properly while letting the innocent do their job.

Women: at the local university a new affair of child abuse has recently emerged - it involves three 'highly respectable' theology professors who were buried long ago with honours, the Vatican which helped them get promoted in order to protect them, as well as the Mother of a convent who happily sent her prettiest girls to the aforementioned pigs. And abused them for her own homosexual desires. All this for decades. Nobody is holy, and women can be instrumental in setting up dirty businesses of this kind. As usual, the whole thing was about exercising power, and the investigation must include all potential actors.

No, you are very wrong. The slur on teachers is without foundation. In the present here and now and in state schools at least, any allegation absolutely will be investigated as soon as it is heard, the teacher will be suspended with immediate effect, it is regulated, the refusal to listen to victims stuff is all made up nonsense

There is no connection to a rapist, a known to be a sex pest, and with complaints against him for being a sex pest going back 17 years. There are no unconnected dots.

My comment is based on experience - not firsthand but pretty close. Don't suggest for a second that regulation stops the police or teachers getting away with what the small minority get away with.

I'm still not sure what your point is?

The quote was "In the wake of Carrick’s conviction, Gray said the force was reviewing every past claim of domestic abuse or sexual offence against Met officers and staff, and said the force was looking into about 1,000 of its 45,000 employees."

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news...-david-carrick-one-woman-act-of-bravery-abuse

There's been no suggestion that any female officers with a track record of domestic violence are being excluded from investigation.

What is your experience?
