Folk/Acoustic

I bought Kate Green's latest CD "a dark carnival" from her at the local club a month ago, but forgot to play it when I got home. It's rather good! A mix of trad, contemporary and original songs. Can't find anything from it on Youtube, but it can be sampled on her website: https://kategreenmusic.com/shop

When Kate Green played a few weeks ago, the ebullient fiddler Patrick Walker was back from his new home in Zagreb. I wondered whether his trio there had recorded, and found this from 2015. Not sure if it ever appeared in physical media (not in Discogs), but here's the full album (also on Youtube, but sound is better here). Try the last track, at least.

Maybe not what you'd like until New Year, @maccar, but he's also done a decent version of Dave Goulder's classic

Isobel Heyworth... a name recommended in an Email to me by another artist and she's beautiful, but sadly seems to have stopped recording a while ago and I can't find any physical copies of her music.
A track from her album The Attic Recordings

Norah Jones - 20th anniversary of Come Away With Me. Recorded last year, with Bill Frissell on guitars, Tony Scherr on bass and Brian Blade on drums.
OK, not exactly folk, but mostly acoustic - and what a set! The studio and location is stunning too. Somehow missed this last April when it came out. Really hope that this performance gets a full audio release, meanwhile we'll have to be content with this Youtube recording from 2022, and the box set of 20 year-old recordings including unreleased tracks and remasters. https://shop.bluenote.com/*/CD/Come-Away-With-Me-Deluxe-3CD/7C4K1SIR000

Kicking off 2023 with some obscure Folk band from the late 70's/80's called Pyewackett
Wish I'd seen them back in the day. My favourite LP of theirs is The Man in the Moon Drinks Claret, but they're all good. "Playing popular music of the last five centuries" as they put it.

Heard on Tim Walker's folk show (Radio Lincs) - Zoe Wren, whose album Reckless River came out a couple of years ago.
