Keeping amused

PSU intermodulation gives sideboards 100Hz either side of main signal. Simple example is say 1kHz sine wave on the edge of clipping. As supply voltage falls, top of wave clips, but after each mains peak voltage rises and takes stage out of clipping.

Perfectly possible to have little mains breakthrough at 100Hz in a symmetrical design, but much more energy in sideboards. Conventional bridge based THD will underestimate it, but shows up clear in FFT.
