Folk/Acoustic

New album from The Wilderness Yet (Rosie Hodgson, Rowan Piggott and Philippe Barnes) out today, mostly original songs inspired by the natural world. Take a listen on Bandcamp:

Lyrics there too, if you cannot easily hear them in the songs. I got the CD early from a crowdfund contribution, and rather like it.

Thanks for this, thought it was out tomorrow... got it playing on Spotify.

Not really folk, but Christine Collister and Clive Gregson have done some really nice acoustic guitar and solo voice/harmony albums.
I don't think they're together now so any albums will be from some years back.

Andy

Good shout, I did recently have a listen to one of their albums, may not be strictly Folk, but most definitely Acoustic, thanks for sharing.

Just heard on BBC Folk Show that Dennis Cahill has died (back in June). His collaborations with Martin Hayes are legendary.

Sad loss.

Hungarian band Muzsikás are ledgendary with good reason.

Muzsikas collect old tunes from an old Gypsy village musician Gheorghe Covaci, "Cioata".
He was a great musician played together with Jewish musicians before the War.
He remembered numerous Jewish tunes, many of them considered to be unknown earlier.
