Indeed. #noshgate. This appears to be the reason the Carrie £100k job story was pulled with a superinjunction or whatever corrupt bullying tactics were used. I wonder which poor MP walked in on that spectacle? I guess they’ll be easy enough to identify as they’ll still be pouring bleach into their eyes in the HoC.

I can only assume Jenny from the Blockchain had to work far harder to get that £100k than Carrie did on that particular occasion.

As Tammy Wynette once put it,

It takes more than just one way to love a man
With my hands my heart anything I can find

"Poor MP?" If they're Tory, not really.

Looks like it was this one.

Scandalous.

Indeed. One should never assume there is a Tory that can’t be bought, or that there is even a rounding error of honour or decency left in the Conservative Party.

The Tory Party has been taken over by Benny Hill, riddled with middle aged men who can’t control their impulses. They’re either in jail, awaiting trial, suspended from the Commons or have had the whip removed. What are they putting in the tea at the 1922 committee?

That’s a killer opening line in a resignation letter “Last night I drank far too much”. It reads like it was written hastily for him by one of the other whips before being requested he sign it.

And astonishly, hasn't had the whip withdrawn or resigned as an MP. Isn't sexual assault more serious than watching porn? I mean, only one of those activities is legal.

Back to Christopher Pincher for a minute:

“On 5 November 2017, Pincher resigned as Assistant Whip and voluntarily referred himself to the Conservative Party's complaints procedure and the police, after former Olympic rower and Conservative candidate Alex Story alleged that Pincher, nine years before he was an MP, had made an unwanted pass at him, describing him as a "pound shop Harvey Weinstein". Story said that he had been invited back to Pincher's flat, where Pincher massaged his neck and talked about his "future in the Conservative party", before changing into a bathrobe.[29] Pincher said that "I do not recognise either the events or the interpretation placed on them" and that "if Mr Story has ever felt offended by anything I said then I can only apologise to him".[29] On 23 December 2017, the Conservative Party's investigating panel determined that Pincher had not breached the code of conduct.[30]

On 8 February 2022, during Johnson's cabinet reshuffle, Pincher was moved back to his former role as Government Deputy Chief Whip in the House of Commons. He was succeeded as Minister of State for Housing by Stuart Andrew.[32] He resigned on 30 June 2022, following allegations that he had drunkenly groped two men in the private Carlton Club.[33]

(Wikipedia)

This is the second time in just five years this Tory sex pest has been forced to resign from the same role due to drunken sexual groping etc. Standards in public life and all that.

PS “Poundshop Harvey Weinstein”!

It's also a cynical example of what PR people call a limited hangout - confess to drinking too much and embarrassing yourself, in the hope that this confession is sufficiently satisfying to your enemies that they do not look for the additional facts you have omitted to mention (in this case, whatever Pincher actually did at the Carlton Club while drunk).
