Postings images in pfm threads - not working anymore?

Here's one of the codes...

Like Joe, I quoted your post, opened the first .jpg code you tried - https://i.ibb.co/TYbfm60/SAM-2030.jpg - I put that link in IMG brackets, got the red cross, so I saved it in my own imgbb, shrank down as it’s enormous.

As per my first post... I then opened it in my imgbb in a new window, and without looking for any other codes, held a mouse / finger over the image itself and copied. Using the IMG brackets here, my own imgbb copy of your image...

@MikeMA

Something is wrong with the html where you are adding an image by clicking on the image icon. I don't know what you're doing, but if you inspect the html, you get:

data-url="http://https://i.ibb.co/PjpKVqw/SAM-2039.jpg" style="">

Notice duplicate "http", and "img" embedded in the url.

Here's what my html looks like:

data-url="https://gordon-s3-1.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Misc/Ambrose-One.jpg" style="">

I'm not sure why this is happening, but I'm pretty sure it's the issue. What are you pasting into the url when clicking the image icon?

Wow, thanks Alex, that's it. I wonder if my files are too big? Though as I keep saying I can link to them on AOS. I will take another look tomorrow.

If you post the whole BB thing from Flickr or whatever do not use the image button here, just paste the whole thing straight into your post. If however you want to use the image toolbar button here only post the url portion (i.e. https://somewhere.com/picturefile.jpg) into the dialogue box. The image button on the toolbar adds the relevant BB code.

Thanks. I thought I was just copying the full BB code from the hosting site and pasting into the image icon. I'll have another look.

No problem. I wondered about that, as some sites automatically shrink images and your first .jpg is 4320x3240 or something. Just to check there’s not currently an issue with imgbb, I saved it and tried it from mine, and using my simple method (much simpler to do than write down!), it works fine.

If you copy the full BB code then you don't need to click the 'add image' icon in the post, just paste the code straight into your reply and that is it.

Thanks Tony, I think this this is pretty much what @gordon was saying, and it seems to work.

Has that always been the case? I'm sure I used to include the BB codes in the past when using the image button and it worked. It still seems work over on AOS. Anyhow I will have another go tomorrow. I'm going boss-eyed at the moment trying to navigate my way round all this, and I'm tired!

I’ve changed absolutely nothing for years! In fact I’m being hopelessly lazy as I really need to get the site migrated to XenForo 2.x at some point but I just keep putting it off as it will be such a PITA to do. It involves proper work and I hate that!

Hooray. It was all my fault, not deleting the BB bit of the BBCode before inserting the link using the image button. Thanks to all of you who pointed this out.
