We've decided to stick, not convinced by the electric versions yet and loving the little Macan now we need a couple of child seats.
I think that is where we got to. I do fancy another Macan, the GTS is looking nice. (Taycan is too big for my garage)
GTS spec looks pretty much like the old Turbo PP which is a good combination.
997.1 is good value but only because of the known engine issues that affect a few.If I had a Porsche I would not be sheepish about owning one. My other half will probably get one as a retirement present to herself in a few years, 997s are excellent value now.
Yes understand it has a known bore issue. Mate had one for 9 years, bought it for £26k & just sold it for £22k, not a bad bit of fun. I would only buy from a respectable specialist. £30k gets you a really good one from what I’ve seen.997.1 is good value but only because of the known engine issues that affect a few.
Good ones aren’t cheap though. I ended up getting a 997.1 C2S back in August from a specialist. Didn’t fancy the risk of buying private but TBH, some private sellers were asking as much so a no brainier to play it safe and buy through a dealer. Still getting used to it but very happy so far.

At the moment, as far as 997.1's are concerned, £30k gets you a tiptronic cab which are as popular as a scorpion in a lucky dip not least for the fact that tips are more prone to bore scoring.
...or a leggy manual.
I should know. I want a 911 and my budget is £30k...
Private cars are exempt which is baffling
