Car Youtubers

Does anyone watch them?

It seems in UK I keep coming across:

Carwow
Drivetribe
Harrys Garage
Becky Evans
Jayemm

In USA I see one called Ever Day Driver quite often. It loks like a highly polished outfit yet loads of their videos get in the low tens of thousands of views and they only have about 300,000 subscribers. And there are three presenters to pay!

Does anyone know how they make money? It must be more than just the views and subscribers (leading to more ads and sponsors) but they all seem obsessed with getting you to subscribe, making me think maybe that is where the money is. People like Jayemm never seem to get more than 100,000 views per video, which is nowt really. And he seems to have Ferraris, Loti and Porsches coming out of his ears.

I realise Harry Metcalfe and Jay Leno are already loaded and I think Becky Evans presents on a 'proper' TV show somewhere now. But as for a lot of others...are they actually making money from their channels?

Also… in no particular order:

Carfection, Throttle House, Joe Achilles, Pistonheads, Autotrader, Autogefühl…

Harry's Garage
Alan Millyard (bikes)
Tyrell's Classic workshop (He rebuilt Harry's Espada)
Bad Obsession Motorsport (project Binky)
Gordon Murray Automotive
Edd China (original Wheeler Dealers mechanic)
Carwow occasionally and Top Gear/Grand Tour occasionally

For me the only ones that have stuck around are

South Main Auto
Car Wow
Car Wizard
Hoovies Garage
Samcrac
Italia Autos ( perfect cure for when I have the urge to buy another Alfa)
Missindon Flyer
Railman Ray’s Repairs.

There are quite a few others that have quickly been deleted / unsubscribed that really started to piss me off!

Harry's Garage. Harry's a great presenter & his programs are really first-class, no silly histrionics or childishness. I've taken to watching Harry's Farm, & that's very good too.

Tyrrell's classic Workshop's very interesting; I reckon Ian Tyrrell has been strongly influenced by Harry Metcalf in his manner of presentation. Oh, and Ian's a rather fine singer!

Car Wizard occasionally, High Peak Autos sometimes (a great Range Rover lover)

Just Rolled In - garages showing some of the truly dreadful states of the cars they're asked to fix - "Just check the tyres..."

'Barn Find Hunter' with Tom Cotter is a favorite. A much younger me on moped did surprisingly often find old cars in barns.

Still, as long as the nasty bully with curly hair previously on TG isn't in it I can watch pretty much everything.

9werks
911virgin
Autocar
Autotrader
Car
Driver61
Evo
Friends Green Porsche
Harry’s Garage
Nick Murray
Peter Windsor
Petrolicious
Pistonheads
Porsche
PorscheClub
Supercar Driver
The Race
The Car Guys
Top Gear
The Porsche Network Tv.

For detailing kicks:

AMMO NYC
Detailing World
Forensic Detailing channel

Don’t/can’t watch them all - just dip in & out when they have something of interest.

Have had to take to Googling the videos because the ad frequency is making YT hard to watch these days. Don’t mind a couple during a 10 minute clip but 4 or 5 is just taking the pi$$.

I forgot to mention Number 27. Jack's a good presenter and fixes up some old but worthy wrecks. He's just bought an "Interesting" Mercedes...

Mainly Harry's Garage, M539Restorations, It's Joel, some CarWow and then it's other bits of mainly TheRing driving (and crashes/spin offs etc)

I watch a lot of the Bamford Rose Aston Martin specialist videos about the problems and solutions for older (Gaydon era)Astons

Some more good ones:

Björn Nyland
Kris Rifa
Out of Spec reviews/motoring
Electrifying
Fully Charged show
Asian Petrolhead
Remove before race
Autogefühl

and how could anyone not admit to watching a bit of Hub Nut

Hubnut FTW. https://hubnut.org/

Also enjoy:

JayEmm (always an honest evaluation)
High Peak Autos (even though he's using it to sell his stock, fairly down to earth opinions)

Car Throttle ( budget Grand Tour...)

Car Wizard (Hoovie bought me there)

Fair play to him, he's turned dreaming about owning exotic cars into a way to get people who dream about owning exotic cars into buying him exotic cars.

Made slightly easier with a load of daddie's money no doubt. Like Mr JWW, a lot of them are already rich before they start.

I'm quite liking AutotopiaLA at the minute, they're having a run of stunning cars on of late.
