RIP Alan Lancaster

Me too, I ate one sour too.
Another of the frantic four goes down. RIP Alan Lancaster.

A bit of a byword for rock trogloditism these days, but I've always found the albums Status Quo recorded between 1970 and 1976 far, far better than their reputation suggests and enjoyably savage.

The Quo were a big part of my childhood - my late dad was a huge fan.

Here's Alan's thing clocking in a an unusually short 5 minutes.

RIP.

Never really a big fan of Status Quo, however they certainly did a brilliant job of opening Live Aid all those years ago.

Couldn't agree more. I still have a copy of Whatever You Want my dad gave me. Like a jackass he wrote my name in biro on the white bit of the penguin on the sleeve. o_O

All early Status Quo is good, including their psychedelic period.
