who?
I have several siblings and families that believe every word they read in the Daily Heil.
Yep, I know quite a few people for whom it's the Bible. No use arguing with them either. Invincible ignorace rules.
I have several siblings and families that believe every word they read in the Daily Heil.
My god, the total transference of that idiotic, media-based culture wars type news will impoverish the country's general discourse.
Have you lot taking mass hysteria pills.
Nobody’s watching GB News and only a small part of the population believe what they read in RW newspapers.
If the opposition has failed because it is not opposing, what os the point of getting a non opposition into power? The problem is that because we do not have an opposition we will have a continuation of the status quo regardless of which of the main two parties, both of which coalesce around the same ideas, is in power.Farages last programme was watched by less than 50k. The powerhouse RW rags sell a couple of million a day.
But the people who watch/read them are already lost, it’s the remaining 40 million adults who need to be persuaded that a different future is possible. Constantly, over egging the effects of the RW media, rather than focussing on the ways the opposition has failed in the recent past and what it has to do to get into government, lets the Tories off the hook once more.
How small? Do you have any evidence for that? Can’t help feeling they print that stuff because it works. The fact free tropes that have passed into common use certainly suggest it works.
I just checked out the YT channel presence of "GB News" and the Farage show appears to be called "Talking Pints with Nigel Farage."
Right now that over-dramatic Scottish fellow from Coast is yapping.
How did Alan Partridge let that bombshell slip through his fingers. Smell my cheese.
"Talking Pints with Nigel Farage."

While the prime time show, 'Farage', saw 107,000 viewers for its debut and a record 145,100 on August 5, the increase was short-lived.
Figures from BARB viewing data now show the average number of people tuning in to GB News has dropped by more than 20,000 per day since the channel's launch.
A week after the channel launched, GB News had sustained a viewership of 38,000.
By July 16, this had dropped to 18,000, and by August 12, this was 17,000.
Ouch. Surprised that the Express reported this given a marked similarity of political view. Maybe different, rival owners?
Quite so. No-one would start a traditional television-style news channel if there wasn't significant benefit in it. In that linked article they muse:
Which makes sense because the line they push is towards a politics that props up their own financial present and future.
As to only a 'small number' believing what they read in the lowest common denominator press. I very much doubt that. Not only does it have a widespread effect on public discourse, you even hear/see people repeating almost verbatim the rubbish originally published in it.
Talk if the devil, we haven’t ‘heard’ from him in a while. I wonder what he’s planning next for Brexit Island? We’ve done radiological and chemical.#CrazyHideousAgeOfPutin
Andrew Neil has said he will never again appear on GB News after accusing the channel of leaking “smears” to a newspaper.
The veteran broadcaster said his former employer “unilaterally” cancelled his exit deal and he “couldn’t be happier” to have severed ties.
A GB News spokeswoman said the channel had no comment on the remarks.
Neil, who announced his departure from GB News earlier this month, tweeted on Wednesday evening: “After weeks of talks with @GBNEWS, resulting in exit settlement, the channel then broke it by briefing Mail on Sunday with load of smears/lies then unilaterally cancelling exit deal.
“Leaving me free to do, say whatever I want + never again be on GBNews. Couldn’t be happier.”
He has an astonishing level of self-belief and arrogance though - well observed by his appearances on that Daily Politics and the late-night one with Portillo. This man will be back when he finds another outlet for himself. His 'strength' is that he is seen as a great political interviewer/analyst and his years at the BBC have given him a reputation as someone who can carry out the job of anchorman. He's a recognised quantity and he knows it. It feeds his ego.
