New Bowers & Wilkins 800 D4 series

I’d say so , yes. Mainly because they do the tune thing whilst also being fun and accurate.

Linn seem intent on using car door drive units that sound like there’s a heavy blanket in front of them.

I had a listen to some of your favourites yesterday David,......ATC :D

I think they’re entirely reasonably priced for the performance on offer. You can spend roughly twice that on a pair of Klimax 350s and get a much worse result.

B&W make some smashing budget speakers too, the 603 is amazing value at £1500. (And they have a much more pleasing visage)

I liked the looks of the older cabinets, even though maybe the new ones have “technically” improved(?). I do typically like the B&W sound overall, and I have tried to like Focal and just cannot seem to get on with them much. Maybe different amps etc., who knows. Think I will just stick to my Duevels, they seem to hit the right spot for me.

i run a little pair of 607s2 anni as left and right in an AV system and really like them . i would like another pair in the dining room as they are clear sounding and play well at low voumes for background listening . great quality cabinets too .

I haven't seen the prices anywhere..what are they?

The flagship 801 D4 heads up the range at £30,000 ($35,000, AU$52,900), with the 802 D4, 803 D4 and 804 D4 floorstanders following at £22,500 ($26,000, AU$38,900), £16,000 ($20,000, AU$29,900) and £9500 ($12,500, AU$18,900) respectively.

The 805 D4 standmounters are priced at £6250 ($8000, AU$11,900), with the dedicated FS-805 D4 stand costing an extra £1100 ($1200, AU$1799). Finally, the HTM81 D4 and smaller HTM82 D4 centre channels are priced £6500 ($7500, AU$11,500) and £4750 ($5500, AU$8500) respectively, with the matching FS-HTM D4 stand costing £700 ($800, AU$1199).

The new 800 Series Diamond range will be available from 1st September.

a little pair of 607s2 anni... great quality cabinets too
I was pleasantly surprised by the cabinets of the 606 s2 Anni's I recently unboxed.
They actually look even better in the flesh than in the promo photos.
Certainly not bling and flashy like my usual impression of PRC manufactured kit.
Love the Continuum drivers, both the sound and looks.

Didn't there used to be a big 800D model with 15" woofers?

Originally the 801 models had a single 15" woofer and the 800 model had two 10" drivers. Even the big Matrix 800 'only' had twin 12" units.

They dropped the 801 model for the D3 (and possibly the D2 IIRC) but as an aside, last time I was at B&W I saw renderings of a D3 cabinet with a 15" driver and also one with a 15" and a 10" driver.

They weren't pretty...

I'm trying to remember the model that Claire Fox had/has? They looked great, then again she did have a pretty awesome and huge listening space for them.
