Wail Frank, Wail

I love these OJCs with the pseudo Japanese OBIs. Tellingly they (the OBIs) are very rare which says a lot about the difference in Japanese and Western thinking

What's the verdict then?

Of the vinyl, Speakers Corner edition, but the other one isn’t bad, just the S.C. version is very good.

Now this one…

This is Lalo Schifrin conducting WDR Big Band in 2000.
Movie and record versions on c.d.

Holy Moly. A different kettle of fish, but then it is to be expected.
The bass is brought forward. Brass not as forward as the S.C. vinyl.
There is 18 tracks on the c.d. compared to 12 on the original.
Glad that I own this.

I love the music in Bullitt (I love the movie too!). It's a bit annoying (to me) that they didn't release the actual soundtrack. This release by Film Score Monthly seems to be the most complete but it's a bit obscure.

‘Knee deep in the North Sea’. Came to this because of ‘Terrain’ in the new jazz thread. Didn’t like the latter, but classy enough to get me exploring. Can’t believe there are so many ideas jumping about in one album. I like suprise!

thanks.
It was in my Want List, but I rarely look at it.
Just ordered a copy from a U.K. seller, so not daft postage.

I see no problem with having 4 copies, so that will be 2 on vinyl, 2 on c.d. - not sure but I think that is 4 different masterings of the same/similar score. At least 3.
