Sunday Fun Favourite Guitarists

I asked my mate Adrian, who plays guitar in a semi-pro band, for his list:

Peter Geeen
Mark Knopfler
Chet Atkins
George Harrison
Dave Gilmore
Barny Kessel

Most of the names in this thread* are either old (white, men) or dead (white, men). Of course this reflects the pfm demographic (not the dead bit, obviously) but surely we must know and like some players who are youngish with probably their best work still to come?
Gwenifer Raymond
Annie Clark
Billy Strings
Mdou Moctar
Chris Forsyth
Shirley Tetteh - she plays a great solo on the recent Maisha RSD release
Or, perhaps the musical collective is now more important than the individuals in it?
* including my contributions!

All time favourites for me would be:

Glenn Campbell
Mick Green
Pete Townshend
Wilko Johnson
Jimi Hendrix
Nile Rodgers
Boz Scaggs

Looads more, the list could go on and on.

Jimmy Hendrix
Prince
Richard Thompson
Alvin Lee
James Taylor
Peter Green
John Martyn
Mark Knopfler
Brian May
George Harrison
Bob Dylan
Stevie Ray Vaughan
Jeff Healey

Some not mentioned that I rate:- Buck Dharma (BOC) Diblo Dibala, Tony McPhee (Groundhogs), Eddie Hazel (Funkadelic), Steve Vai (his stuff on the first David Lee Roth album with Billy Sheehan is stunning), Michael Hedges (check out Aerial Boundaries), and of course the Allman Brothers Band quad of Duane Allman, Dickey Betts, Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks.

Loads already named, I’d add...

Mike Stern
Lee Ritenour
Pat Metheny
Hiram Bullock
Andy Fairweather Low
