My predictions for the new season are as follows :-

Premier League Champions - Man City - very closely followed by Liverpool and not so closely followed by Chelsea, Arsenal, Man U & Spurs.

Relegation - Aston Villa, West Brom & Fulham

Champions League Winners :- Bayern Munich
Europa League Winners :- Spurs

FA Cup Winners :- Chelsea
League Cup Winners :- Arsenal

1st PL Manager to be sacked :- Dean Smith (Aston Villa)

If his last two performances for England are anything to go by I hope Utd land Sancho for £100 mill.

Anyone else disappointed with the ITV highlights of the England match last night?

OK it sounded like a crap game and they had other games to show, but of the 10 minutes or so of 'highlights' much of it was multiple slow motion replays or close-ups of substitutions and concerned-looking coaches.

I did see Grealish touch the ball briefly though.

That's good to hear Webster, but I'm not that confident City will be first. I don't see Spurs being anywhere near if Levy is only spend small amounts of money. Wolves have made some good signings, I think that they will be there or thereabouts.

I'd like a tight battle, with the top six pinching points off each other so that means it goes down to the wire.

I'm a bit concerned about our lack of strikers, we only have two and they are both still in the 'promising' category.

We have offloaded three centre backs on loan and kept the best ones (Dunk and White). We only have two and a half specialist fullbacks.

We have also sold our reserve goalie, our next in line injured himself in the friendly against Chelsea. I just hope that Maty Ryan stays fit. The only games he's missed were when he was playing for Australia.

We only have three players left from the promotion squad and only one of those will be a regular starter.

But...

Lallana looks like a shrewd acquisition, if he stays fit, he fits Potter's gameplan perfectly. Trossard, Bissouma, Alzate and Mac Allister (all full internationals now) and Lamptey should improve with the experience they gained from last season.

Overall, I am confident that we will improve again this season if we get more goals from the midfielders mentioned above.

As for predictions, one team will win the league three will be relegated. None of them will be the Seagulls. I think we will finish around 12th.

Not sure what to make of LFC this season, other than Minamino in Jan, no purchases for 4 windows... the FSG business model is based on money generation from bums on seats from a 168 game a season Red Sox team and 19 Home games plus those from ECL and the other cups.... with no crowds since March they’ve said no money available so JK has to sell before buying... hope it works out?

Liverpool look favourites. They won the league and did so playing some fabulous football most of that time. If they can keep playing like that, there's no one better.

Man City look good for second, but they have the look of something going wrong somewhere. Not sure what, not sure where, but a few poor performances and they could look vulnerable to a sustained wobble.

Chelsea are looking good, but they're no where near the finished article in attack and still have a question mark or two in defence. Some sublime performances and hopefully fewer frustrating performances will see them finishing higher than last.

Man U 4th

LFC will miss the noisy crowd at home more than most teams I think, should go close though unless they lose one of their stars?

I think injuries will be the key. LFC have plenty of options for attacking and midfield, but losing Allison (as we saw in the CL), VVD or even Gomez could really hurt them on defense. Really don't trust Matip to stay healthy, but fingers crossed. Hopefully we also see one of their young central defenders emerge this year.

Even without any major signings (beyond perhaps a Gini for Thiago swap), I still think LFC has a solid chance to repeat if they stay healthy. But obviously, last year was an anomaly, and the other top teams have added some pieces. Like everyone else, am fully expecting a close race for the PL crown and top 4 this year. Should be fun!

Liverpool's appalling form since February will continue so they will finish well behind City.
Arsenal third, Chelsea fourth.
Everton a surprise success this season.
Leeds top ten.

City 1st
Chelsea 2nd
Liverpool 3rd (They can’t keep being lucky with injuries)
Everton 4th
Wolves
Arsenal

Man United
Fulham
Villa all relegated.

This will be a strange season with no crowds or partial crowds for most of it. It will be crap as a spectator sport, whether in person or on tv. As a season ticket holder I’m struggling to get remotely excited by it (I had to check today what time our game kicks off on Saturday. Normally I would be arranging pre-match meet-ups, meals and drinks). I hope my mood changes come Saturday.

Anyway, predictions...
1. Liverpool, by a very small margin to...
2. City, by a very small margin to...
3. United, by a.... to
4. Chelsea.

I think deciding the league, CL spots and UEFA league spots will go to at least the 35th game. No crowds will level things up a bit.

Nobody sticking Man Utd in amongst the top 5? Surprised at that as they're improving and have added a decent looking player in van de Beek. Expecting big things from Chelsea after their heavy spending spree. Liverpool have enough of squad to not have to invest heavily and have Thiago set sign.

My predictions:

Liverpool
Chelsea
City
Man Utd
Arsenal
Everton
Spurs
Wolves
Leeds
Leicester
Southampton
Newcastle
Burnley
Brighton
Sheff U
West Ham
West Brom
Fulham
Palace
Villa
