Not sure if mentioned before, Deadwind 1 and 2 on Netflix are excellent cop shows from Finland, if you don't mind subtitles

Funnily enough we just started giving this a go last night - only one episode in so far, glad it sounds worth sticking with.

Bordertown now added to the list.

Criminal:UK on Netflix was worth watching - only three eposides, all set in a police interview room. There are also Spain, Germany and France series as well that we haven't tried - a brief foray into the Spain one gave us the impression it was (badly) dubbed - though now I realise we could have chosen the original language soundtrack instead, so may try again...

I really enjoyed Seinfeld. Two favourites were “they’re real and they’re spectacular” and “master of my domain”
Those that have seen the episodes will understand!

I started watching Seinfeld on my own as none of the family wanted to watch it, by the end they were all watching it with me. Great show.

Cheers BB

I really enjoyed Seinfeld and the two best quotes were, “they’re real and they’re spectacular” and “master of my domain”.

Those who’ve watched the show will know the episodes,

Hope this has not been mentioned on any of the previous 29 pages, but the Film / documentary about Aaron Swarz, contributer to the ideas behind RSS & Reddit was I thought both really interesting and sad in equal measures. Well worth watching - on Amazon Prime, called the 'The Internet's own boy'

I watched Parasite on Amazon Prime last night it's only £1.99 for a two day rental (£4.99 on Apple) an amazing film, one of the best I've watched for a long time, no idea how it won best film at the oscars as it's not your typical big budget American type of movie but definitely a worthy winner.

I'd rate it right up there with In The Mood For Love, by Wong Kar-Wai, which is one of the best movies ever made IMO and also his ChungKing Express, Parasite is a completely different movie from both of those films but the acting and cinematography and the story is just as good. I loved it.

Highly recommended.

Thanks for the recommendation - Parasite has been on my radar since I watched this video essay on it at the end of last year by TheNerdwriter (he does excellent video essays on all sorts of things but film and TV is his specialist subject, as it were).

Saw it at the cinema a couple of times when it came out, well worth repeated viewings to catch the subtleties

I watched Blackkklansman - a Spike Lee film about a black federal agent who infiltrated the KKK. Pretty good couple of hours of entertainment but not his best work by any means.

I’m hoping they’ll show Do the Right Thing sometime soon, one of my all time favourite films and quite timely in the current climate.

Edit: On Netflix

Fear City was good. Documentary about the FBI rooting the mafia out of New York in the 80s, which took a lot of very careful planning.

half way thru' Gangs Of London....very violent! ;) .

Really enjoyed Tarantino's " Once Upon a Time in Hollywood",it's long but a brilliant look back at the Hollywood scene of the 60's.

We thought Once Upon A Time In Hollywood was Tarantino's worst film so far, and the storyline is boring.

(we are massive Tarantino fans - I was at his premiere of Pulp Fiction in Nottingham)
