I thought the Harrison Birtwhistle piece on last night's prom was a dreadful racket - something I would happily pay to avoid, and not remotely musical.

There are many paintings both abstract and representational that I enjoy without necessarily considering them beautiful, great theatre can be uncomfortable. Odd!
