Could lead to a breakdown in pharma patent system.
As I understand it, a patent is only valid insofar as the granting authority deems it so - the granting authority being a branch of a country's government.....
Could lead to a breakdown in pharma patent system.
Of course the other possibility is that the GOP dump trump & run another candidate for president
This may throw the Dems completely off kilter & remove the core motivation of a lot of voters - an anti-Trump vote (although I also believe there is a large anti-GOP vote too)
Biden is not inspiring & it may be the only hope the GOP have?
It appears to be a "normal" commercial transaction and therefore has nothing whatsoever to do with the patent system. The function of the patent system is to confer on inventors a limited monopoly (20 years from application), in return for which the patentee agrees to publish his/her invention. Pharmaceuticals are unusual in the patent world in that the 20 years can be extended (typically for 5 years), because of the high risk (of 10,000 compounds, you're lucky if 6 make it through clinical trials to approved drugs), high cost (typically in the billions of any currency you care to name) and the length of time for regulatory approval and therefore sales (on average 12 years from initial application).Could lead to a breakdown in pharma patent system.
Mark and Patricia McCloskey say they support Black Lives Matter - until they come into their gated community...
Interesting article about Biden’s VP selection process.

Four have emerged as front-runners: California Sen. Kamala Harris, Florida Rep. Val Demings, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, and former national security adviser Susan Rice.
I like Susan Rice - lukewarm on Kamala Harris, - don't know much of Val Demmings or KL Bottoms, but it seems Demmings has the edge in experience, and may be a good person to try to heal the divide between law enforcement and the black community. All are miles better than Pence.
Prince Andrew must be sweating now. That is, if he wasn't incapable of sweating.
I’m hoping that the intelligent, educated, reasonable Americans are observing sensible precautions. If there’s any upside to this pandemic, we could do worse than see it turn into a redneck plague. Not that it comes as any surprise but Covid-19 bushfire in the US has spread to > 50,000 new cases yesterday with Texas, Florida, California & Arizona accounting for more than 25,000 of new cases. Some predict 100,000 new cases per day will be breached soon.

4th July weekend still to come which no doubt will further demonstrate stupidity, selfishness & lack of simple common sense by a sector of the US population - let's see how many there are as a indicator of the national character?

You’re obviously making rednecks faster than they can be dealt with, then. We've already had that with the opoid addiction epidemic, and before that meth.
