I believe this is a Common Darter...I took this at a local, once upon a time long ago Quarry in Hebburn Tyne and Wear..my home town..Canon 10D..Sigma 170-500mm lens..focal length 500mm 1/800th sec at f10..ISO 400... hand held..I only wish it had been looking at the camera.

Spent the last couple afternoons re-scanning some old 6x6 slides with a Canoscan 8800. I originally did them using the Canon software but never very happy with it so this time used VueScan that I originally got to use with my old Nikon 35mm scanner. Much to learn about creating film type profiles ... but nevertheless an improvement - and loadsa fun doing it (especially spotting them afterwards)

First up - a disused cinema in Madrid from 1983. Fully restored a year or two after I took this and now quite posh (link below pic)

... and following up with one (from a negative) of a street market in Porto in 1984. Both this and the last one taken during a Winter round trip:

Captivated by the details bottom right - it's the kind of scene that seems to have been sanitised out of our major cities during the property price boom.
