Oh Britain, what have you done (part ∞+22)?

I take the point as made, but don’t you think it gives the lie to the Lexiteers’ Claim that the EU rules would prevent us doing some of the things Corbyn wants to do? It may require a degree of creativity, but where there’s a will, etc...

The worry i have if we are going to renationalise is the cost. In the 1970s people retired at 65 and only lived for perhaps another 10 years. Government workers can now retire at 55 and can expect to live longer than the average of 84m/86w. At the start of thatcher we had 750,000 civil service now it is about 400,000.

‘nobody understands’ ... Do you find the support of others helpful?

Steve, It’s crystal clear. I do not support tory ideology.

What you really mean is, you and probably nobody else in the pfm gang wants to understand. You spend too much time trying to come up with the latest snide remark.

Says the king of snide. You still didn't answer the simplest of questions as usual.

They can, but will receive a reduced pension if they do. Most more recent entrants (last 10 years or so) are on Nuvos or Alpha pension schemes

This, from https://www.civilservicepensionsche...ension-scheme-alpha/2015-pension-changes-faq/

The Normal Pension Age (NPA) for each scheme is detailed below. You may have a different pension age as a result of a TUPE transfer.
  • classic, classic plus, and premium have a NPA of age 60,
  • nuvos has a NPA of age 65, and
  • alpha has a NPA that is the higher of age 65 or your State Pension age.
Note also that the age of the gold-plated final salary pension for all civil servants has passed. Nuvos and Alpha are 'career average' schemes.

"The latest reading pointed to the steepest contraction in the manufacturing sector since February 2013 as production contracted at the fastest pace since October 2012 and new orders dropped the most for almost seven years, amid high stock levels, ongoing Brexit uncertainty, the economic slowdown and rising competition. In addition, employment fell for the third straight month and backlogs of work dropped at one of the fastest rates for six-and-a-half years. Looking ahead, business optimism dipped to its third-lowest level in the series history during June. "

It's hard not to come to the conclusion that the UK is facing at least a decade of severe decline. I think the UK is completely stuffed.

No cake and eat it. No £350,000,000 for the NHS. The job losses won't be offset by everyone becoming fishermen. Black people won't be gone.

Brexiteers are going to wreck the country and they'll still be angry and unhappy. Probably even more so when they run out of toilet paper.

Pensioner told black woman 'when Brexit comes you will be gone'
...
Hughes said: "Mr Keogh came into the bookmakers to claim some winnings.
"He became impatient and when he was given the money, he told her, 'When Brexit comes you will be gone'.
"She asked him what he meant by that and asked him to leave."
Keogh also admitted calling Davis a "f****** n*****" as he left the shop, clenching his fists as he approached her at the door and causing her to "fear for her safety". https://www.theneweuropean.co.uk/to...-when-brexit-comes-you-will-be-gone-1-6136162

First British black female bishop on Radio 4 today.

She described being racially abused in the street recently, when a passer-by told her to "go back to Africa.

Nothing to do with Brexit. But then, what is?

‘ere! Stop talkin the country down. Youve forgotten the blitz spirit and our secret weapon- Boris ,

“Boris's sunny optimism can get Brexit over the line”.

“much of this relentless negativity is driven by envy, class warfare and, above all, Brexit”.

How do you reach that conclusion? If you look at the graphs over 10 years for UK, France, Germany and Italy it is not just the UK that shows weakness.

Does it?
They all seem to be resigning. Because they don't want to be anywhere near the sh1tstorm. Surely you mean less?
These are magical Ukippy civil servants- they won’t cost anything and won’t increase that public deficit we keep hearing about. They get paid in tokens and can only spend their wages in Britain on British goods. They will holiday in Clacton, riding the (British) donkeys on the beach and eating British made ice cream. They’ll never live long enough to draw a pension.

True that, but where the UK has been more or less flat since mid 2016 the other European countries had a large uptick after mid 2016 which ended at the start of 2019.

“Seamus Nevin, the chief economist at the organisation, said: “Given this outlook, increasing competition to see who can race to the bottom and act tough on ‘no deal’ is the height of irresponsibility with zero understanding of the consequences.” Make UK represents companies ranging from Jaguar Land Rover, Nissan, BMW, Toyota, Airbus and BAE Systems to Lush Cosmetics, Warburtons and Ikea”.

The two Conservatives competing to become PM- irresponsible and insightless. What happened to the party of business?

Looks a bit like James May!

PS I’ve seen this crap first hand on the local trams with apparently drugged-up unemployable chav-gammon goading Asian females who a) were almost certainly born here, and b) likely have a job so pay their way. Tends to happen around Oldham.
