I think the E39 M5 with its naturally aspirated V8 engine is perhaps, was, peak BMW and the reason why these are sought after.
To many people, another reason why the E39 is preferred to the later M5s is that you can enjoy it at sane speeds. An E60 isn’t enjoyable, they say, until you’re into licence-losing territory. However, the V10 with a decent exhaust sounds racecar mad.
If the car had been stored inside I'd not have raised an eyebrow at where the bidding is now..
Didn’t meet reserve. Sanity restored.
And it has gone to that price with bids!
It’s a shed, needs many thousands spending on it.

Does it make sense to anyone here?
It was Pablo Escobars car.
I'd say it's a dead cert he will. I'm sure that none of his mates have been bidding it up after all, so the smart money says he'll contact the last couple of bidders with "Well, what a surprise, my buyer dropped out and it didn't meet reserve, but I'll take..."Wonder if he contacts the 9200 bidder?.......or was that a bid up? Soon see if he relists it.
Well, they say providence is everything. Now you know why. I'm sure the interior will come up nice after a good hoovering. It was Pablo Escobars car.
