A thread to list your upcoming concerts, just in case there's something that may interest another poster.

Sitting in ticket corner for me at the moment:

18th October, Portico Quartet at The Roundhouse
30th October, Efterklang with the Northern Sinfonia at The Barbican (one of my favourite live acts, so I'm really looking forward to this)
2nd November, Deaf Center at Kings Place
14th November, Antibalas at the Islington Assembly Hall
23rd November, Seun Kuti with Fela's Egypt 80, Jazzanonva, Matthew Halsall at Kentish Town Forum
13th December, Orbital at Oxford Academy (time for a bit of rave nostalgia)

Bit of a dilemma: a lot of the things I go and see are at Cafe Oto. But as I also volunteer there I'm not sure if it would be OK to list them in this thread or whether that might be construed as sneaky viral marketing (not my intention!).

Crack on I say; particularly as I missed a Jan Jelinek gig there, as I knew nothing about it (razznfrazzn mutter mutter).

I just got back from hot chip playing in Folkestone, they were kicking off there uk tour and were surprisingly good. For a local gig I was impressed!

19th Oct - Richard Youngs @ Cafe Oto
7th Nov - Marilyn Crispell @ Cafe Oto
10th Nov (daytime) - Adventures In Sound (Brotzmann + others - free!)
10th Nov - Peter Brotzmann @ Cafe Oto
14th Nov - Wadada Leo Smith @ Bishopsgate Institute
16th Nov - Sonny Rollins @ Barbican
23rd Nov - Mike Cooper @ Cafe Oto
5th Dec - Chris Corsano @ Cafe Oto
14th Dec - Philip Glass Koyaanisqatsi @ Barbican

Also thinking about...
3rd Nov - Biosphere @ Kings Place
5th Nov - GYBE @ Forum
9th Nov - Bento Box @ Green Note
8th Feb - Ahmad Jamal @ Barbican

I wondered if anyone has any recommendations for the London Jazz Festival.

Very tempted by Biosphere but it would be quite a big deal for me, travelling up from the Midlands, overnight accommodation etc. Sometimes I really miss living in London...

Not too impressed with N-Plants but he has released some good download only stuff on his website recently.

If you like that sort of thing, this looks pretty amazing. Thomas Koner, Biosphere, Philip Jeck, Fennesz...

For now I will have to make do with:
John Williams & John Etheridge, 14 Nov, Malvern
Lau, 17 Nov, Bristol
Kate Rusby, 12 Dec, Malvern

Thu 11 Oct - Savages - at Electrowerkz, Islington.

They are the first great new band I have come across in a long time.

Savages are a 4-piece all girl group. Their debut single, 'Husbands' / 'Flying To Berlin,' was released on vinyl yesterday.

Dinosaur Jr., Oct. 15, Bluebird Theater - the day after RMAF is any from PFM are in town for that.

My mate's band, 33rd August, at the George in Stepney this Friday and John Cale at the RFH on Saturday.

Now also Tame Impala 30 October and Motorhead & Anthrax 17th Nov, both Brixton Academy (which, after the superb Dead Weather/Jim James gig a while back, is off my shit list).
