Lefty

Very nice Lefty. Nice shot too

Well, guess whose been enjoying the minimal hair shirt thing? There's **** all left really. TEAC DAC this month/week and passive knob on the most microphonic thing I could find.

I think these sorts of shots will be getting more common in the coming years, so expect more foot fetishism and "pair of speakers and "a couple-a-boxes" shots as peoples big systems disappear. Bit of a shame really, all that gorgeous stuff, still I bet people will be able to amass insane second and third HiFi set-ups.

Might yank up the screen for a big dumbass special effects movie. Not in the mood for "art" right now. Just pornies, beer and stack of music to play.

I'm still at the old schoolhouse for a short while longer. I like the room, but not mine. Want to get onto my next project soon as the settlement ink dries. Modern materials next time. I want a space with no prior history but knowing me I'll find an old moorish castle and fall in love with stone and wood again.

This is the back end. A TEAC DAC from Richer Sounds as I wanted USB, Coax and Toslink. Balanced too so using Mic Wire.

There is no specific controller. The iPad is just one: It can be the iPhone or an iPad or a MacBooks or a PC or the iMac, it doesn't really matter whatever is at hand and runs Spotify and can send to AirPlay. Weird mindset really. Freaking me out in a nice way. Not even a NAS.

I didn't have quite the budget of some of the very expensive looking systems here but this Neutron 2.1 system keeps me happy. :)

the night atom looks like it hit the fireplace, i wish beer had this effect on my rayburn

Nice. What are those monoblocks on the floor? are they the power amps for the horns?

Sorry for the confusion, two systems. The naims drive Sonus Faber Extremas, a Cremona Centre and Elector Amators as part of a home cinema system. The horns are fed by valves, a 211 TRON or quads, with a TRON valve preamp

Hi, Adrian.

Do I see my old 135s in that Naim jungle? What t/t are you considering (plus arm/cart.)? Haven't seen you on the forum of late, so nice to see IWC up in lights again.:)

Yes your old 135's are snuggled in the pack. Hoping to pull together a set up to my match my favourite of old, I have a Syrinx PU2 Gold and a Koetsu Red and will pop it on a Valhalla era Linn Sondek.

Glad all you lot are okay, I have been spending too much time on other hobbies......

.

have seen those on ebay and felt tempted...

not much luck with a(n even) cheap(er) fiio D3 clone from said bazaar - looks like you have to spend £30 to get anything decent

As I am new to the site I thought I would put a couple of pictures of my current systems. They are not very exciting compared to most on hear but it is a start.

Nait1 and Totem Mite's (source is normally AirPlay at the moment but may be changing to hidden Dac in future.

In the attic I am running a 90/92R combo with Neat Momentum 3i's but these will be up for sale soon to make way for a Nait2.

'cheap' was the wrong word, Dave - I meant a slight rough-hewn quality which adds to it actually.
the plinth is coming across greenish on my monitor, and that's not a colour combination (with the armboard etc) I'd have thought 'works' - but it does going by your photo.

No, you are correct actually, for quite a while now I've been thinking of trying a matching slate armboard, just dunno where from though, at a reasonable cost:D

There is also a matching green tinted perspex cover which I had made. I'll perhaps put a photo up with it showing.

Cheers.....Dave

I am pretty sure I have just seen the FiiO D3 for about £26 inc ship. Its a great DAC. A shame that USB port is just for power though.
