RLPO have an excellent band leader just now.

I thought I liked their performance of the Tchaikovsy Symphonies - I still do, until I recently discovered Musica Aeterna conducted by Currentzis. Musica Aeterna seems to better Liverpool.

The Liverpool violins suffer from the too high tempo generally. Mind I'm talking Tchaikovsky here, can't comment on the other pieces.

Thursdays concert was fantastic. Walton, Tchaikovsky & Shostakovich. I've not watched the full livestream yet. Must see if I can spot myself in the audience (row C, centre aisle)
