Rega RB301/303 internal wire and identification...

Dowser

Learning to bodge again..
Wasn't sure whether to post here or DIY - does anyone know if;

- Below is original Rega internal wire? I assume not, as rubber grommet holes have been ignored.
- How to identify an RB301 from an RB303?

Arm has been fitted to a Lenco L75 I bought, while chassis was redrilled to get alignment correct, nothing was done about VTA. I'm going to look at mounting a spare Linn arm I have to get VTA right too.

Thanks! Richard

The wires look like the ones rega use but not the heat shrink around the tags.

Agreed. Two of those cartridge tags appear none standard; perhaps the rubber stopper was pulled before soldering and shrink wrapping and then it was too late to feed the ends through the individual holes.

As to how to distinguish between RB301 and RB303; If they are Rega branded (none OEM), the model designation is printed along the side of the arm rest/anti-skate outrigger.
There are other clues, such as the taper of the revised arm tube. It may sound daft but the newer casting appears 'leaner' compared to old.
