ProAc Response 2 question

I've been searching for a pair of ProAc Response 2 speakers and have received an offer on a pair.

However:

The woofers have been replaced, ostensibly by ProAc, with ScanSpeak 18W/8545K00 drivers; these are obviously not the original clear plastic drivers. Does anyone know if this is a valid replacement driver? (I've emailed ProAc directly, but thought I might get a quicker response here (no pun intended).)

Also, there is a photo of the serial number, which is P 01749, but not of the typical ProAc model/serial number plate. The driver configuration looks correct - they are not Studio 1s, but I'm a bit concerned by the drivers and lack of S/N plate.

Hi bob, i'd avoid them. Original Response 2s pop up in Germany from time to time and are well worth the journey.

Agreed. Such a dramatic change in cone material (and maybe parameters) will render them not R2's any more.

Might as well wait for a good pair . . .
