The TDK AD tapes were also good but the SA was the sweet spot.
I used the SA-Xs, MA and MA-Xs but they were overpriced.
The bog standard TDK D was a fine cassette mechanism but for lo-fo or no-fi sounds.

I latterly had a Yamaha KX-580 with auto bias - fantastic quality!
