The UK tried to stop the appointment of Juncker: he will certainly be revelling in our self-created turmoil.
It is a measure of how far the UK's status has fallen already that our PM meets with Juncker not Merkel/Macron.
 
The failed former minister, IDS was wheeled out last week to boldly assert that "Barnier had no authority".A statement as rich in irony as it is in delusion- and that's the problem, we have a party with no coherent policy- only competing fantasies of what Brexit should be.

It was the triumvirate that ran the EU when the chips were down. The UK voted itself out of power and now our PM meets with bureaucrats. Do you really think Slovenia or Lithuania are going to make the crucial decisions on Brexit ?

It IS even stranger than you guys thought. The links to the story are on Google.
But the story is two weeks old (link). That's when ONS released the figures.

Funnily enough the BBC reported the story two weeks ago.
Where's the conspiracy in that? Alien abduction!
How else could Rich and merlin have missed the news a fortnight ago?

There's not a word of any of this on the BBC - our national broadcaster.

They are going with the Weinstein Story, the Weather, and the Duchess of Cornwall dancing with Paddington Bear.
 
May is having dinner with Juncker tonight- he's going to shoot her fox, the only question being- will he do it before they sit down to eat?

No need for it to be on the website or television then. It will have reached millions of confirmed Brexiteers. :)

is this to be an even bigger breakdown than the default one we're headed for regardless?
 
I would be happy enough with a Swiss style Brexit (although being out of the customs union is a pain).

However, it must be remembered that Switzerland has signed up for free movement of people, so the Brextremists won't like it one little bit.

That's the problem the EU is facing- does May actually possess the authority to negotiate?
