Multi-function 2017/2018 football thread Pt II

The freekick stats are just above the bookings normally, so probably conceded. Close enough that it doesn't make much odds on this occasion, though.

Chelsea won 4 - 0 last night and Hazard didn't even play. Willian scored two excellent goals. We're lucky to have him and the Belgian in the team. They make Batshuayi and Lukaku look like the oafs they are.

Giroud potted his first with a really well timed stab at a cross. Up until that point the Frenchman had been working hard, but missing shots. For a nasty moment I thought we were entering Torresland Part 2.

Conte started with some new squad members like Emerson Palmieri, who is fast and had a fine game. He also used academy graduates like Kyle Scott later in the match.

There are a lot of really talented young footballers signed to and loaned out by Chelsea. Some like Christensen have come through and are regularly in the first team, but it would be good to see more of them.

We're in with a shout in the FA Cup. Whether we can beat Barca at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night is another matter ...

Hahahah ! Wigan beat Man City 1 - 0 in the 2013 FA Cup Final and they did it again tonight !

The ref played nearly five minutes of extra time instead of 4, but the Manc mingers still couldn't score.

City had 82% of the possession, but were pretty pathetic with it. Well done Guardiola, you're good at looking miserable.

Goes to show anyone who gambles on footyball should realise it's a mug's game. How many punters would have said City were a racing certainty?

That of course depends on who you backed. Reckon there will be a few happy punters in Wigan.

I imagine even in Wigan most punters would have gone for City. Proper fans will follow their team through thick and thin, but when it comes to putting money on they tend to be ruled by the old noggin - says man in the know.
