High End Manufacturer's New Take on Direct Sales

I have bought components direct from Emotiva and Oppo. Both offer a no-quibble money back trial period if the gear does not satisfy. In addition, I was able to get tech questions answered over the phone before purchase. The service was miles better than the the service I received in the past from local dealers. I would not hesitate to buy direct in the future.

IMO, the mail order dealer model of the type mentioned in post 40 above does not offer the consumer any price advantage; it simply substitutes a dot com dealer for a traditional a storefront dealer. The dealer markup remains.
