Harbeth P3ESR sounding boxed in?

I have no idea. A few weeks ago, I loved the kudos, and didn't like the P3ESrs. Now, it's the opposite.

Maybe I've gotten used to the Harbeth sound?

Yes, its like I said above :)

It was the 'awesome' and 'terrible' which threw me a bit - very strong terms!

C7s are certainly very good if you like the P3.

I think the OP comes from the U.S.

Yes, I still have the Kudos. Use them in the living room with a Naim stack. Use the P3ESRs in the study with a Rega stack.

The Jamo Concer 8's are very good, but totally underdamped at the frequency extremes, the bass organic but almost boomy, sublime mid and a clear but slightly sparkly treble. They remind me of B%W 805's which is a good and bad thing I think. I'm not surprised the P3ESR's sounded a little flat and undynamic in initial comparison tbh...

Anyway, hopefully all sorted now :)

Once you get to a certain threshold it's about voicing, not competence. Which style is right? Probably none of them- how can a plastic/ paper / aluminium cone really replicate the human voice, a grand piano, a violin? It's all bollocks. Settle on the colouration of your choice but avoid lecturing others about your particular tastes in speaker colouration.
