The d200 didn't impress me at all, feeling like a wannabee D2x. The Canons, except the D5, had the same shortcomings as the Nikons.... So if you're in the market for a decent digital SLR and you're an average photographer buy an Olympus E-300 otherwise learn first how to make a decent picture with a secondhand Praktika

That settles it, then. A D2X for bub. Or a 5D. Or an E-300. Or a Praktica.

Hello - Had a good look at the Dig SLRs recently - at the end I went for the Canon 350 - it just felt & worked better for me.

after a very recent experience, i have little doubt that what would best sui you is some sort of leica: either digital or a classic m-series. you see, if you happen to lose some small accessory--like a lens hood, for example--the company will always have a replacement ready for you at a shop like B&H:
