Thanks Pete, I've ordered the PH pre-made ones from an ebay seller and the larger VH type from Rapid.

My Ice power module in a Cisco DMP case, we chucked out lots of these so I grabbed a couple and found a Transcend 4gb 266X Compact flash card inside, that in the camera now!

Looking a bit fuller now...

I had a hum/noise problem on which ever channel the PSU was plugged into, it turned out that all the holes in the single ended to balanced board after I tool the terminal blocks aren't all connected and I wasn't getting an 0v on one output.

Looking good
the small green caps on the drv134 board are they nichicon non polarised ?
if so they should be polarised caps as they sit on the power rails
i made the same mistake with mine
just finished another power amp

I didn’t look closely at the caps I have it running into my Arcs at the moment, I am going to leave it running for a week or so then put the Hackernaps back in.
I wil give it a once over then.

Did you spot the VBE before the regs?

Pete

I was wondering what the transistors were for ( like on the B4 buffer )is it some sort of a soft start ?
i used a relay to pull down the enable pin (pin 7 ) the relay open after 5 seconds on power up stopping any pops ;)

What do you think of the sound ?
i called round to a friends house i sold a ncc200 voyager clone i built to with my power amp and did a comparison using his ryan sound labs preamp naim sbl's and a naim cd (not sure which model ) after a afternoon of listening we both preferred the ice amp

Just an a amplifiered capacitor to filter any crap from the onboard supply.
A transistor with a 10K from collector to base and a 10uF to ground.

Pete

Well I ran it for a few weeks and on Sunday put back my Hackernaps, wow what a difference the bass is back to playing tunes, it was a bit one note with the ICE modules.
I don't think I will go back.
