Best S/H £500ish small loudspeaker

I second the SF Concertino Home!
Just upgraded my amp to a Primare i32 and oh boy, do those little babies sing!
Amp with a bit of beef helps, but in this combination I think the HiFi shop guys where a bit taken aback how close the small speakers came to their much higher up the range impress the customers kit...

I have early SF Concertinos (bi-wire version - better than later ones I think?) with original stands I am finally ready to let go.

Tony: AE1's work fine against my back wall.

David: ES 11 is a lovely speaker but the AE1's resolve way more musical mysteries.

Ruark Equinox are in that bracket. Well made and solid sound with crossover built in to the stands. Bit rare but they do come up every so often on the Bay.

Lovely speakers , I briefly owned a pair but couldn't give them enough room to sound their best so they had to go . I think the OP would be in the same boat .
