Acid House nostalgia - Roland TB-303

I went to a few clubs in London, Ibiza and Italy in 1988, varying from Shoom to The Trip, Amnesia and Space.

The tune that kicked it all off was Acid Trax by Phuture and a lot of excellent stuff followed from America and the UK.

The north were pretty adept at investigating Acid with people like 808 State, A Guy Called Gerald and The Shamen.

All - night parties varied from smallish adventures with people like Boys Own to full on raves put on by organizations like Sunrise and Energy.

Some of the best I went to were at the JAMs/KLF's house in Clapham North.

Under the influence of ecstasy and acid, they would have their machines generating music all night.

A few months later some of the music would end up on a new single such as What Time Is Love? or 3 a.m. Eternal.

Myself and James Brown, who later started Loaded magazine, did the first Justified Ancients Of Mu Mu (JAM's) interview for NME in 1987.

I'll have to try and dig out the cutting, but I think James wrote it up and I took some pictures.
