Maybe the nDAc is better with taking data off a card, via a usb serial interface, passing it to a FIFO buffer, then sending it on to have a clock attached to it and then sending it on to the DAC chips for conversion, and then again, maybe it was just an product feature afterthought...

If it was the best way to get sound onto the dac you would think people might be banging on about it- they aren't however.
