Oh yes, so long as you guys have no Naim hangups your going to like this.
Sen is one whole lot different than Legato, not just a matter of better or worse its a different music.
I think your going to like this a lot

You tease! Really looking forward to going SEN, once I've got an idea what I need to do. Many thanks for doing all the work Tony.

Hi Tony, Paul or Nic said it was very different and it certainly is.
For me I don’t think I will miss the old sound but perhaps other could.
Certainly lots to do yet and next on the agenda is to build up the other Sen and fit to the right hand side of the right Buffalo. This will shorten my wiring by a lot
Still have a little HF whistle but I think I will get that out with the wash when the other Sen comes on line.
We ended up having a late night last night, here good self’s comment was all “the music is different and more live”
Batteries are not a problem I got sold 750mAh under the pretence of 800mAh but it’s not a problem still best part of 20 hours use.

Easy order a Sen evaluation kit, heat sinks and Jfets from Patrick

Hi Stefan, I do all sorts but mainly HF.
Just in my second year of turning so some are a little clumsy but I have great fun on the lathe.

Very nice indeed, I've only got about 10 hours at the lathe under my belt so far. So only a couple of simple beginners projects completed. Strangely I enjoy the actual turning far more than the finished piece. Very relaxing indeed

You're such clever folks. I reckon you could "turn" your hands to anything...

You will find it is a very fast learning curve you just need some time at the lathe and your skill gallop along.
I spent a lot of hours at the lathe last year which is why I had a year off pinky bodging.
Then people start asking for presents, gets fun at first then you start getting lists
Then the commissions start, now I am getting some commissions I have not so much time for turning what I like, so some commissions get sent off not being entirely to the brief in order to twist the item from what was asked for to what I like to turn

Jack of all trades, master of none I think the saying goes.

Done some stuff

Traced the slight squeal down to an interconnect earthing scheme. All my cables have a flying screen tail from one end and I swapped the power amp interconnects around whilst trying to fix the initial great buzz.
Reversed screens back to original and now squeal free.

That just left me with a very slight buzz, in fact I could have lived with it but its fixed now.
I connected each DACs analog ground to PE via a 10K resistor, so still fully dual mono as I think we can ignore 20K between the dual mono sides.

Fitted the second Sen to the opposite side of the Buffalos.
Now there is one Sen using just one quad on each of the Buffalos. This let me shorten the wiring considerably although sonically there is no readily noticeable improvement. likewise no noticeable improvement due to splitting the Sens.

Sounds great, why is Sen so good? Is it partially due to not having a TPA BAL/SE, Legato or just a whole lot better I/V.
Will it get better or worse by going balanced with a pair of dual quad Sens and adding in a BAL/SE stage?
Will adding in another one or two converters on each channel aid anything, also the AVCC regulator is busy sourcing current into the four spare shorted out converters on each Buffalo, should I make headway with the battery filter?
Wow there is still a lot to do.

Sounds good, can't see why going balanced only to have to do a bal se would make it better unless loading the other half of the sen with a dac instead of a dummy load work loads better.

We'll see
