The Tenth Anniversary Wam show . March the 18th 2018

It'll be interesting, I actually liked Scalford Hall and the drive there but I can see it's limitations, especially being disabled myself. I will be there at the new venue and will likely be able to get around it much easier. I hope it all goes well!

Scalford was always a pain in the bum for visitor parking and last years park and ride charge put us of going.
Look forward to the new venue

I liked Scalford and knew my way around it after all those visits, but I can also see the new venue will probably be more convenient for visitors to get to. Hopefully there will be as many rooms as in the past.

I'm exhibiting so I'm looking forward to it. I live only 8 miles from Scalford but the park and ride put me off. Onwards and upwards, I understand supplies of Poek Pie will be brought in.

There is also anecdotal evidence that lost Wammers have been discovered still prowling the upper corridors at midnight after closing...............
But I'm not saying that it was difficult to find one's way around !!

Having done work in the kitchen at Scalford, I'm amazed nobody has died from Legionnaires. Kegworth is a lot cleaner so that is a bonus.

I’ve been to every one of the Scalford shows, where have those nine years gone, can’t believe it!

The new location is a lot closer for me so no need to stay overnight anymore.

I can’t remember the last time I visited the Wam forum though.

Still having difficulty navigating the updated Wam site
The Classified section seems pretty dire and full of sold items
It would appear that to update items is not that straightforward. I had to get one of mt
y sons to show me and install a short cut( Much to his amusement!!!!)

Hmm, well I’ve just had a look at the Wam site and certainly the forum part seems to be a pale shadow of its former self!

However, the show has always been about a lot more than just the forum. Hopefully the organisers will make it great and bring back some of the more ‘exotic’ exhibitors that used to display.

personally i love the wam layout although recently when i had to use my wifes smartphone it was a nightmare to use !!!
you are right about the outdated ads and i have actually just highlighted 2 in technical support . some parts of the wam are pretty busy and some of the bake offs are great fun, i am looking forward to hearing usher , spendor and lv in melton mowbray this at one

Do you think, I’m not sure either seem particularly more popular than before?

To my mind pfm and I suspect AoS have remained pretty constant with very gradual but consistent growth, whereas the Wam very quickly went from a position of being smaller than pfm to being very, very much bigger, and has since crashed somewhat. I suspect most of the long-term regulars of each are constant and the overlap between all three is large. pfm is where it was expected to be, no bigger, no smaller from my perspective. I don’t think whatever happens elsewhere impacts us much; those who like it here visit, those who don’t don’t.

I use both PFM and the Wam. The Wam has struggled since the change of ownership and it's move towards more commercialism. Some of the really useful contributors like Serge make it still worth visiting. Plus the threads on Raspberry Pis and the knowlege base across the mix of Audio and computer is helpful. The experience on active speakers is also a bonus. I much prefer PFMs off topic section for incisive commentry on current events and politics. What on earth is the Wams 3 Words / 1 Word daily about? Just trivial crap.
