I’ve been up and down the range. Started with a SuperUnit which paired with Totem Aro’s was great… moved to separates… 282 / 250… then up to 252 / 300 DR… 552 / 300 DR. Divorce forced a down grade and I’m now at 282 / 250 DR which is likely as high up the range I would go (although I may...
Thanks for the feedback. Consistent with my expectations. I agree that the Superline is exceptional when powered by a SuperCap (or in my case a Teddy SC).
Contemplating cashing out some of my gear, and am pondering going from an NDX 2 + XPS DR to a Cambridge CXN V2 as a transport into a Chord Qutest DAC. Curious if anyone has thoughts how the Cambridge unit would compare to the NDX 2... as a transport only.
I’ve got a Marantz HD CD 1... digital out into an NDX 2. Works great and looks sharp. Contemplated the Rega shoe box CD player too..... bought the first one that came up on the used market.
I'd like to get my digital front end a little closer in terms of sound quality to my vinyl. On the vinyl side of things I'm running an RP 10 / Apheta 2 through a Superline (powered by my NAC 552). Using a standard Naim lavender interconnect here.
Digital side is an NDX 2 (self-powered)...
In my case it didn't cost anything. The SC was already in use powering my Superline. Now it's powering my Supernait 2. To my ears, the gains achieved by powering the pre side of the integrated are significant. I don't miss the SC on the Superline at all... I know I would miss the gains achieved...
I decided to take a flyer last night and disconnected my TP Supercap from my Superline, and connected it to my Supernait 2. Good choice as the global improvement to my system was rather staggering. Big improvement to my NDX 2, and the Superline / RP10 sounds just as good to my ears powered from...
I've owned lots of TP power supplies... currently running 2 TP supercaps... 1 on my 252 and one on my Superline. I've never even heard a Naim Supercap in my system.... just went with TP as it was much more affordable entry point. I've never felt like I'm lacking for anything.
Audience power conditioners work well with Naim gear. Recommended actually by AV Options, a Naim distributer in the States.
Worthy investment in my opinion... if for no other reason than to protect the gear from surges / outages... both common in Southern Ontario where I live.
Music lover who appreciates the value of a good tool? Any better?
I like photography but don't consider myself a camera buff, despite having taken some time over the years to learn what gear works best in my hands, and making purchasing decisions accordingly.
