Try a hub, or even better a USB re-gen device, I use an iFi but there are cheaper options...

I use a QNAP NAS as a source for my picoreplayer/LMS installation... Parameters are; 'ip addess', 'qmultimedia'(default media folder in the shared folder), CIFS, admin, 'admin password' (usually default is 'admin') With nothing set in options... Can you see your NAS folder via a network...

The best SQ I've heard from a pi into my MDAC was from a pi2 with a hifiberry digi+ pro spdif board, with isolation, and an iFi PSU...I think the digione is supposed to top the hifiberry. I normally use a SBTouch, via USB with a significant amount of iFi isolation in the path (iUSB 3 mini)...

I use a DL110, and have recently upgraded to a project tube box S, with the ability to configure it for a high output MC It's a massive improvement over it's predecessor (on old Rotel with MM or MC), in many ways, however like you, I think the DL110 is at it's best with a more configurable...

I use an SBTouch as the source for my MDAC (L2 'Toy' upgrade), using any volume control processing will upscale to 24bits (ReplayGain, Crossfade etc.), the D3E functionality is only activated by bit perfect 16bit. This might be of use R.E. the firmware versions...

Another for dbpoweramp, the accurate rip CDC matching is excellent! Try to get a high speed external CD/DVD if you're ripping a lot, the bigger the better...

Indeed...the same is true for the AV Chromecasts, so I can initiate a netflix cast from by ageing S4 phone, and watch it in 4K/60hz/HDR, or in other words the highest available ;-), on my TV...another bargain at £65!
