I'd second going down the SB+ route as I found it a huge upgrade on a Squeezebox 2 with DIY 5v super reg PSU. According to the SB+ review on TNT Audio http://www.tnt-audio.com/sorgenti/at-tunes_e.html firmware V15 is the best sounding. Cheers, Tim.

The obvious answer would be an ALW super reg. From memory I think they can put out a maximum of around 1.5 amps, which is plenty for a Squeezebox. I generally haven't a clue about electronics but if I can build them then I think anyone can! You can get bare boards (or fully built ones) from...

RS do some chunky looking ones in various sizes & code 467-2491 is for the 22mm one. Also, Audiocom do some <here> but they are a bit pricier!

RS do a 320va 24-0-24 centre tapped transformer. The part number is 310-3180.
