You think your AC signal is a pure sinewave with no extraneous noise or DC offset at the point it hits the rectifier? Seems a bit idealistic. If you put a 'scope on a mains signal you would be shocked š¤£ Your view isn't science buddy...

Get a DC blocker to stop the transformers humming and then plug into that a mains extension block with built in choke EMI filter to get rid of the switching power supply noise.
Have sent you a PM, but I am probably more likely to go for an AKM chip if someone offers it rather than a Sabre, as the speakers have ribbon tweeters and are very crisp already.

Who mentioned cheapo flex cable Martin? You guys need to find out what is actually happening before you conduct these witch hunts. If 30ma leaks from live to neutral the RCCB in the box will trip out. Nowhere is 64 amps going through cheapo mains flex cable.
