Had my HG for 2 years or so. Cleaned over 1000 records. Softened water from the tap and a dash of rinse aid to act as surfactant. Change water each time. Easy. If the lp is real dirty it gets 3 off 10 minute sessions. Bit overkill but so what. Thoroughly recommended, especially at the price.

The 300, albeit dr vs 250dr question is on my mind too. The problem I have us thar I just see a 300 as a 250 in two boxes. But there may be more to it than that. I did wonder about using 2 off 250drs. One to drive each channel, but not bi wired/amped. So the 250 transformer only has to work...

It was my vac pump that failed dramatically. Grinding noises for a while then I suspect the pump bearings failed and allowed the plastic pump rotor to clash with the pump casing. Resulting in black bits coming out the exhaust. Looking back, the dirty water I was removing started to get more...

I'm not convinced the Projects are a quality build. Cheap commercial parts stuffed into a box. I looked inside mine, what a mess of wires etc.

Watch or listen out for that noisey motor. Most likely it is the vacuum pump starting for fail. Mine killed itself after about 3000 lps. Got noisey then one day dark smoke came out the exhaust along with a grinding noise. The bearings inside draw moisture into themselves and the lubrication...

Err no. The HD600s sound better with the v281 over x can v2. But the Clear are better still. And so they should be, being 6 or 7 times the price.

The previous HP amp was an MF x-can v2, modified and okay with the 600s. Now the bass is much clearer, and the mids are too. I'm not so sure about the top end, but that could be my hearing. You need to listen to cans with your amp or, if buying new cans, make sure you are happy with the amp...

When I had my quietest, I spent too much time trying to hear differences in the filters. A complete waste of my time. Still convinced that just the lamp changed colour and that was it.

My 250 was serviced by naim last year. It pops on start up and power down. Think it is normal.
