Hi Did you make the changes ? Was there a benefit ? I took the lid off my AV2 some years ago thinking I'd replace the main caps and decided it wasn't worth it..... looked like a nightmare to take to pieces.

Does anyone know what Naim would use as the modern equivalent parts when recapping a NAP 150 ? For example do they fit Kemet ALC80A103 or ALC10A103 for the 10000uf PSU caps ? What about the electrolytic caps ? I want to keep this stock design. Thanks.

I didn't mention I also put additional caps on the DAC regs across the existing 10uf adj filter, maybe got one wrong way round or cap failed. Removed these and crackling has gone away. I can only think the supply voltage changed, after heating up one of the voltages just wandered out of spec...

Also have many people attempted replacing the DAC on any CD player ? Was it successful ? Top tips ?

Tip for soldering SMDs is to use a pair of tweezers to hold the part in place, put some solder on the iron tip and tack one end of the part, solder the other end properly, go back to the previously tacked end and solder properly. A flux pen helps to.

From my experience of cap 6 and my own cap 10 is that they significantly out perform the 22000uf used in Naim 250s, however I never tried one with Naim regulation boards in place. IMO the cap 6 is a superb addition to any power amplifier. Then move onto a cap 10 (5 x 4700uf + L) and improve...

Get two second hand Rel 200s.....fit them, forget about it.....built in UK as well. Regret selling my second one now......
