Morton Subotnick of historical interest only?

Hell yes. There's never been a better time to listen to electronic music-regardless of vintage than now either.

    Hawkwind - S/T

Not entirely correct.. The sleeve was actually a rendition by the artist Bob Searles of an earlier painting by Barney who was suffering from recurring bouts of depression at the time and often absented himself at short notice. The original painting of the skeleton driver was intended to be...

    id this track ?

Random guess here. Acoustic guitar reference aside, the rest of the description sounds very like Asha Puthli? Could be waaay off though!

Leben CS300 and active sub ?

Nice turn of phrase :) It can in fact work very well, had one connected up to a pair of plate amps driving the bass augmenters of an open baffle set-up. Speaker level connections as you say, but easily done with the terminals provided. Sounded marvellous.

    Later Leonard Cohen suggestions please

Mike- you'll have a great night I'm sure, his set covers all periods and the band is very good indeed. The Webb sisters blew me (I wish..) away and even though the O2 was "just the wrong side of intimacy", I don't think I've ever felt so connected with the people on stage AND an audience of...

    Tony Allen

The Vampisoul collection is a great start. Pick any of the albums he worked on with Fela pretty much at random- he's consistant! For something a little different try N.E.P.A. or Ariya, a couple of slightly more electronic (kind of) albums.

Mate, you missed out-I think there was something like four encores, he just kept on skipping off and then coming back again. I was really surprised at how efficiently so many people got out so quickly afterwards, we got straight onto a tube and weren't crushed either! It can be done, even in...

Yep, best gig I've been to for a long time. Have wanted to see him for a long time, it was worth every penny I spent on the tickets for me and my gal. My high points? 'Hallelujah' and 'If it be your will'- the girls harmonising on the latter brought tears to my eyes, just incredible. Top band...

    The African Music Thread

This threads been quiet for a bit, but thought I'd revive it to mention that the African Scream Contest has been out on vinyl for a little while and also to give a heads up on a tasty french Lp I just got- its by Fanga, is called Natural Juice and is on the Cosmique Groove label. Its a modern...

    At what point...

Hmm..could be anywhere between Zeit and after Force Majeur depending on state of mind. I love the former and lost interest after the latter.

    'Airy' music

Again a little new-agey but then it is from an album called New Age of Earth by Manuel Gottsching aka Ash Ra! What about a bit of Ocean of tenderness or Nightdust from that? Totally weightless man!

    my bloody valentine at roundhouse

My ears have never been the same since I saw them on the Rollercoaster tour at the Brixton Acadamy and for that reason, I'm out.
