Thanks Tony. As others in this thread have done, they've been quite nervous before buying because they were worried about compatibility. That I know nothing about passive preamps doesn't help lol! The Sonus Fabers are 6ohm, 89db I believe (they never matched well with the Cyber 845s imho)...

8000m - input sensitivity 1.12v rms 845 - input sensitivity 1.00v rms so I should be OK. I couldn't find anything for the output for the ASR phono stage. The Naka has an output voltage of 1v, so should be OK? I can't find any information on the output sensitivity of the NAD tuner...it's...

So, if I tend to listen at 85db and no louder, and that's 1/3 of the way on the volume control of the 8000c unit...this is with the SACD source. The phono stage source requires a bit more volume to get to the same sound levels, but not much. I don't really have any background in electronics...

Sonus Faber Electa Amators on their dedicated mounts. I've had them for near Ten years, and have never had any spittiness or upper mid glare. I doubt that it's the 845 tube that's causing the issues, but is probably the e88cc or 5687 choice. Dave

Rare on the market and by all accounts, great sound. Getting a bit old now and I'd be worried about spare parts availability, but other than that, wouldn't be a bad buy if you're into solid state amps. I'd say they'd probably fetch 400 pounds 2nd hand (UK pounds) off somewhere like Ebay...
