    Regulator for HackerNAP

cheers PD so it would appear at least for now that an upgraded VBE with a fetlington is both more achievable and the best place to start. Like ZK i am interested in Avondale VBE boards if there are any going spare on the forum? Shoom's NCC200 group buy is underway, i wonder if VBE boards...

    Regulator for HackerNAP

GWM - there is no info about the HN1 on Paul Hyne's site, though it does appear to be a good option. Sam Cat - I am very interested in the SMPS route and class D in general. Are there any special modifications to make for use with a HackerNAP? PD - thanks for the technical input. I am using a...

    Regulator for HackerNAP

GWM - i presume then that the 3-pin Hynes regs would be instead of a Fetlington? timH - i'm glad you've chipped in, how did your TPR from this thread from a year ago turn out?: http://www.pinkfishmedia.net/forum/showthread.php?t=144888&page=10 It seems a lot of threads die just as they...

    Regulator for HackerNAP

Hi GWM, it was that thread (and others) that have inspired me to find a suitable Front End regulator. Thread here: http://www.pinkfishmedia.net/forum/showthread.php?t=144101&highlight=superreg+hackernap&page=3 John Luckins had good results with the ALWSR regulator, but that board is...

    Regulator for HackerNAP

Having just completed my HackerNAP (sounds great!), i am preparing to implement some upgrades. I have been digging around some old threads. First up is the Fetlington mod. Anyone recommend any other mods like this? My main question though is about regulation for the frontend. Are there...

    hackernap advice thread

Hey Hacker - i tried sending you an email and a PM (inbox full). Maybe check your junk box? Hope your house move went according to plan? I'm after some cap boards (x 6) and some NAP boards (x 4) if you could post them to me? Thanks dude

    hackernap advice thread

Hi again all - help required again! i have both channels running as a stereo (with one psu running both channels). One has DC offset 35mv and the other 63mv. The one with 63mv has some problem with TR8 - although it's working fine (and sounds good), TR8 runs very hot and once at louder volume...

    hackernap advice thread

Cheers Hacker. I tried to send you a PM but your inbox is full so i'm typing here instead. I'm running them with PSUs i have prototyped on veroboard for now - the ground is a little noisy. As such i'm keen to get my hands on the CAP boards from you. I'm already planning to build at least one...

    hackernap advice thread

Thanks again for the input. I'm using the recommended c2 - big gray block 68uF / 6.3V Tantalum. The transistor hfe difference thing came in handy for the 2nd board - it had dc offset of 120mv. I replaced TR1 and TR2, though TR1 is only about 2% bigger. Now it is 45mv. So i have one channel...

    hackernap advice thread

Thanks for the input Alan, yes typo - it is stable at 3.3mV. DC offset is stable now at 63mV. Sorry mate i don't know which is the feedback cap? I stuck close to the recommended transformer sizes (OP@ 36-0-36 300VA and FE@ 42-0-42 50VA) and after on-board FE regulation they come in almost...

    hackernap advice thread

Hi all i've replaced my blown components and have the hackernap on the test bench. PSU voltages are good (+/- 55v front and back). Bias is behaving itself - stabilising to 3.3v over 30mins. However the DC offset is at 70mV. Do i need to change R15 as suggested elsewhere in this thread? R15 is...

Thanks Andrew. I found some good advice by digging back through this thread. Turns out i have blown TR8, D3, R19 and R27 (at least). I will update when appropriate... cheers

    hackernap advice thread

Hi guys i hope you can help. i've got my hackernap on the test bench - i built it using all the recommended components in the BOM. My Front end PSU is putting out +/-65v and this is +/-55v after the on-board regulation. My Output PSU is at +/-55v. The problem: when i power it up with...

    HackerNAP/CAP /NCC200 boards

Hi all, I'm a newb looking for some boards to start me off on the DIY route. HackerNAP gerbers are available at hackernap.com, so if no-one has any boards lying around i am interested in starting a group buy. Anyone else interested in that? Perhaps Hacker is lurking around here himself...
